Nintendo issued a press release today, stating that Monster Hunter Tri will be heading to US shores. Now, I’ve never played any of the Monster Hunter games, and such I’m looking past that part of the info for now… (don’t get me wrong, I’ve heard it’s great, and I hope to be playing it one day, and that day may be soon) The real news to me is that the Classic Controller Pro is finally going to be in our hands.
The Japanese get all the good stuff first, and I’ve held off on buying another Classic Controller just in case this ever came to the US. Now, my dreams are true. The controller will be bundled with Monster Hunter Tri for $59.99. However, the game will also be sold as a stand-alone for $49.99 and the controller for $19.99. With this, there isn’t a reason to get the original Classic Controller, and hopefully it will be phased out to this superior version. Yes, it’s very PS2, but if Sony can take controller cues from Nintendo, why can’t the opposite be?
