Google is really pushing the Android platform lately. If anyone has kept up with Google’s push into the mobile world, you’ll know they recently released their Nexus One device. While many have been hard pressed to call Motorola’s Droid, which runs the Android system, the iPhone killer, the Nexus one is being herald as the true competition to Apple’s mobile supremacy.
True Android lovers know, though, that there is one area that Android falls short in: video games. While there are some shining gems in there, there are games that came out for the iPhone that I’ve been dying to get on my G1. Google knows this, and wants to rectify this problem by giving away free Nexus Ones and Droid’s at GDC this year.
The catch is that you have to be a developer, and meet the requirements found over at the GDC website. Unfortunately, if you do qualify, you won’t get to pick your choice of phone, as the site explains “Attendees who meet the qualifications listed above will receive either a Verizon™ Droid™ by Motorola™ or a Nexus One™at the conference based on random distribution.”
Either way, if you’re a developer, and want to get your hands on a free phone, head over to the GDC site and sign up!
