Do you like strategy RPG games, or maybe you like to level grid away to be as powerful as you can. If so, Disgaea DS will be your cup of tea. This Disgaea is a remake of the PS2 title. There are some new additions, like “Etna Mode”, witch you unlock after you read all of Etna’s journal the first time through, which will allow you to play Etna as the main character, as well as make your opponites stronger. And exclusive to the DS, is Prinny Commentary which you can unlock by starting a new game +. Also with the DS you get two screens, the top one oferrs a helpfull map, and the bottom is where you play. The touch controls are a little hard to use, I didn’t really use them a whole lot. Do you like to battle your friends? Well you can, and you can even trade items.

The story you might know already. You play the role of prince Laharl. Who’s father just died and now is the heir of the overlord in the netherworld. Of course the netherworld is full of demons who want to be the next ruler, so you must fight them along with your vassle Etna(the princes friend). There are many unique and likeable characters. My favriote is the demon named the Dark Adonis. which is quickly renamed (by Laharl) Midboss. This story is one of the best stratigy RPG storys I’ve ever played, with many different endings which offer plenty of replay value

Ok, so this game is not for everyone. If you hate siting there and leveling up for hours. You will most likly hate this game, but you don’t realy have to do that you can just play through the story and call it quits. For those of you that like that hours of fighting so you can reach a level cap of 9999, and you own a DS or even a PSP I would suggest this classic game to you. The game sells for $30 new on both the DS and PSP. I give it a three out of five.
